Navchandi/Shatachandi

Navchandi refers to the worship of the nine forms of Goddess Durga, often involving the recitation of the Durga Saptashati text. “Shatachandi” implies a more elaborate ritual, potentially involving 100 repetitions of certain chants. These rituals are performed to seek blessings for protection, fulfillment of desires, removal of obstacles, and spiritual well-being.

In astrology, these rituals are performed to:

  • Overcome powerful planetary afflictions (like Rahu, Ketu, Shani, or Mangal doshas)

  • Neutralize the effects of karmic blockages, black magic, or evil eye

  • Remove obstacles in health, finance, career, marriage, or childbirth

  • Attain divine protection, victory over enemies, and inner strength
