Navchandi/Shatachandi
Navchandi refers to the worship of the nine forms of Goddess Durga, often involving the recitation of the Durga Saptashati text. “Shatachandi” implies a more elaborate ritual, potentially involving 100 repetitions of certain chants. These rituals are performed to seek blessings for protection, fulfillment of desires, removal of obstacles, and spiritual well-being.
In astrology, these rituals are performed to:
Overcome powerful planetary afflictions (like Rahu, Ketu, Shani, or Mangal doshas)
Neutralize the effects of karmic blockages, black magic, or evil eye
Remove obstacles in health, finance, career, marriage, or childbirth
Attain divine protection, victory over enemies, and inner strength
